![]() I didn't really dip into the tutorial and was experimenting around. You can equip various weapons with stats and what not. From then on, you can capture unit product structures(?) and expand your territory. For the civilization part, you start with a small group of settlers and you find a capital city. Combat wise, it resembles heroes as you move your units around on panels and try to attack the enemy with your spells/weapons/creatures. I would be happy to help you if you intend to purchase it.Īs for impressions I have only played the first game but from what I gathered, I think it's a mix of civilization with heroes of might and magic. I've the first fallen enchantress and owners of the first fallen enchantress gets -50% off the $40 price tag, making it $20. I think the game is worth the money and I am having a lot of fun with it. Having said that I am not far into theg game so maybe that will change. The battles are better ut there still doesn't seem like enough options to me. There are ones which really should have bveen improved from Fallen Enchantress, like the city levelling and universal mana. I am still not sure on some of the mechanics. There are more weapons, more monsters and more mounts which is great. ![]() You amass enough fame (By completing quests etc) and then you get to choose between two heroes (With little information to go on) I like the fame idea, but I would like more choice and more information about those choices when it comes to choosing heroes. I don't really like the way you get heroes. It's like a typical ARPG levelling system now. I think they have quite a good levelling system in Legends which could be improved but is far far better than the previous games. I personally quite like the style and it seems like a fair amount of effort has been made to make the graphics not only stylised but attractive. The first thing I noticed were the increased graphics. I haven't played a lot of Legends yet but what I have played is better still. I tell you that so you know where I am coming from when it comes to my opinion of Legends. But Fallen Enchantress was a good game which gave me several hours of enjoyment. But then I quite Enjoyed Fallen Enchantress.Īfter the mess that was War of Magic I had quite a good time with Fallen Enchantress but didn't feel there was enough variety, content and some of the gameplay mechanics weren't working that well either. Overall, the changes to the heroes are cool, but everything else is either a non-improvement or made things worse. you should just raze everything? What's the point? The computer sure likes to expand like crazy is it getting hidden bonuses even on lower difficulty levels to mitigate that massive unrest penalty? The new mechanics to mitigate city spamming (pioneers cost population and you get a ramping-up "too many cities" unrest penalty) are just plain un-fun, because obviously you're going to conquer a whole bunch of enemy cities because they're retarded, and then your cities barely function. It makes a conquest spree seem ridiculously tiresome by comparison, which it is, because heaven forbid you auto-resolve battles later on the computer that's too dumb to beat you is also too dumb to realize that you should beat it all the time, every time, just by spending some of the hundreds of mana you've saved up and spamming ranged attacks. Depending on which faction you play, rushing to the Spell of Making is still the fastest and easiest way to win. It sort of makes the rest of the game dull because you know exactly how it's going to play out. Meanwhile they're expanding willy-nilly and artificially increasing their arbitrary and stupid number that makes them think they're awesome. If you decide to make peace because three guys are attacking you all at once (and, in fairness, probably each other too) then they still hate you and still think they're hot shit even though you've clearly demonstrated that you're a badass who can take on their armies 10:1. You wreck it because you know how to design units and build an army (and abuse the crap out of your mana pool.) It asks for peace. ![]() If its number is bigger than yours it hates you then attacks you. Love free stuff?
